Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC) Website Design

Valley Heartland CFDC

2022-2023

Web Design

Valley Heartland CFDC is a hub of resources and funding opportunities that allow rural businesses to thrive. This website redesign was required to communicate with and allow visitors and neighbours to access services more effectively. The introduction of digital resources like the business calculators differentiate them from similar small business development organizations, and the custom pages provided a fun opportunity for me to play with animations!

Non-Alcoholic Split Case Design

Two of the Whitewater Brewing Company Non-Alcoholic beer cases, one lying on its side, showing all sides of the box. Non-Alcoholic beer case sitting on the floor in front of stocked Costco shelves.

Graphic Design

Whitewater Brewing Company needed a new beer case designed to launch their Non-Alcoholic Farmer's Daughter and Shifting Tides into the market. The design would initially be featured at Costco, and needed to have shelf appeal from all angles to account for the palette style display stacks Costco uses. I had a great deal of fun creating this split case that features both beers, with distinct visuals of each beer wrapping around the opposing sides of the box. Each has a 'side' but the box design still signifies the presence of both flavours from any angle, with a featured spot for the illustrations representing each beer that organizes the nutritional and ingredient information effectively.

Graphic Design

As part of a suggested roadmap to encourage healthcare workers to make the move north to Nunavut, two campaign visual concepts were required to pitch alongside a projected marketing strategy. The first (far left) focused on people and community — graphics reminiscent of traditional beadwork and focused imagery of the people who would be aided by access to more healthcare workers, while the second (right) highlighted the natural beauty to be experienced by moving to the area, utilizing illustrations of key landmarks and the aurora.

Personal Project

To explore different branding styles and development projects, I created an e-commerce website built with coded patterns, for a small family-run honey and beeswax product business. The pattern library is designed with easy navigation for users of various ages in mind, while the whimsical brand was a fun design challenge with unique opportunities, such as a unique icon for each item in the shop, as the scope of products would likely expand slowly, if at all.

Katie approached me in need of a site to accompany the launch of her online presence and YouTube channel. She needed a site that would function as a blog and collect email subscribers, with the potential to grow along with her community. Knowing I would have the most control to create something unique if I coded the entire site myself rather than with a web builder, I designed and developed a responsive online platform using Netlify as a CMS. This gave me full control of the visual outcome, and she could easily add more content within the framework I set up for her.
